Brantford Dining Tradition Since 1961

Welcome to the Oriental Restaurant!

Located in the city of Brantford, Ontario, we are just minutes walking distance from Brantford City Hall, Wilfrid Laurier University (Brantford campus), The Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, the train and bus station, and many other local businesses and attractions in the downtown area.

Established in 1961 and originally located at 104 Market Street in Brantford, the restaurant started with a coffee counter and a few booths with tables.  Shortly thereafter, a small dining room was added in the space next door.    For those that still remember, customers were greeted into the dining room by two large hand made dragons with glowing red eyes on each side of the entrance. 

As the building lease expired, the restaurant moved to its current location at 162 Market Street in 1977.  A used furniture store had undergone significant renovations at the time to provide two dining rooms for a little more spacious seating.  

While some things have changed over the years, there is pleasure in knowing that certain things on our menu are just as popular today as they were when our doors first opened in May of 1961.  Good Chinese cooking appeals to everyone, and we trust that in addition to your regular favourite dishes, you will also be tempted to try something a little different the next time you are in.
